About Roy Elementary
Roy Elementary, home of the Rams, proudly displays blue and yellow as our school colors. Located in the southwest area of Weber County, we are adjacent to the Eagle Lake Golf Course. All of our students live within walking distance of the campus.
Our school is situated on the site of Roy, Utah's first school, which was established in 1874 by Justin T. Grover, the community’s first teacher. Originally known as the “Little Blue School House,” it was a one-room school. In 1912, a six-room schoolhouse was built in front of the original structure, and since then, the building has been rebuilt and gone through a few expansions.
Currently, Roy Elementary serves over 400 students and is staffed by over 20 dedicated teachers. Our curriculum emphasizes literacy and numeracy. We also have a strong focus on helping students develop leadership skills through the "Leader in Me" program. This initiative, based on the principles from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, helps students learn essential leadership traits. Students actively engage in leadership roles, such as greeting peers in the morning, leading morning announcements, giving tours, and participating in various student teams.
Our mission at Roy Elementary is to develop the whole child by ensuring ALL students acquire the necessary academic skills and leadership habits that promote high levels of learning and success.
