I was born in Spain and I have been living in the states since 1991. I hold a Bachelor degree in Spanish/French languages and a Masters in ELL (MAELL). I am bilingual Spanish/English. I taught High School Spanish and this is my seventh year teaching ESL. I love to teach and I know all my students can learn. When they are in my room they are loved, respected and encouraged to learn.

Thank you for sharing your students with me.

At Roy Elementary School we make an ongoing effort to help every student meet grade level proficiency in reading. All students receive grade level reading instruction in the classroom. If a student shows a need for additional support, through assessment and classroom observation, that student may be included in a reading intervention program. These programs are flexible, meaning students may move in and out of groups throughout the year. The Reading Specialist, Para-Professional, teacher, or Read Today tutor may offer intervention instruction.

If you have any questions about these intervention groups, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Kinney, the reading specialist.
